Regular Meeting minutes – April 5, 2011

Our meeting was called to order at 7:31pm at

The Woodstock Free Methodist Church. Several member expressed concern they had not received timely notification of the change of our meeting place for April.

Due to the elections our normal facility at the Nunda Township building was not available but a couple of our members went there not knowing the meeting place had been changed.

Marty asked members to double-check their email they have with him and he would make sure that the meeting change notices would be sent out a bit earlier.

After this, Ken took the roll call. I counted 26 present.

No old business was reported.

Treasurer’s report.

At the end of March our funds in the treasury amounted to: $3,493.10. We Sent a $150 check to Nunda township for the use of their facilities.

Which leaves our current balance at 3,343.10.

In dx, New Zealand heard on ten meters. Sunspots up slightly from two months ago.

Repeater report:

The repeater quit transmitting on Friday due to a mal-function in the controller.

However, apparently this was repaired over the weekend and at the same time Controll of the repeater was given to a new trustee, Cornell. The call sign on the repeater now is kk9-dx.

Ken also reminded the club members that we can sign up for Field day on the ares races web site.

Ken also stated that the 2 meter spring sprint would be held next Saturday.

After a short break, Jack introduced his friend from Japan who gave a program on how he works dx in that country.

The program was based on two articles in the January and February qst under the heading “the world Above 50 Megahertz.”

Unfortunately I am unable to decifer his name and call sign. From the tape it sounds like his name is Wasid and his call sign is L9CY.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:56pm.
