Subject: McHenry County Wireless Association - Regular Meeting minuets
December 4, 2007

The regular meeting of the MCWA was called to order at 19:30 hrs local
by Jack, W9MU at the Nunda Township Hall north of Crystal Lake.

Introductions

* President's opening remarks - Jack, W9MU Thanked every one for
attending on in inclement night [heavy wet snow]. Jack announced that
we did not have a white board yet to post the agenda.
* Self introductions - Name, Call and QTH - 19 attendees
* Jack, W9MU stated that John, KA9CAR is moderating the N9RN
reflector, those interested in subscribing should contact John.
* Jack, W9MU complemented the club Web page, by Ken, KB9I really
great looking - it is free to us tnx to Ken.
* A very brief discussion about the cost of ARRL insurance was
held.
* Jack acknowledged WelCars, a ham radio club serving western Lake
County - They are a sister club mutual exchange for the promotion of
Amateur Radio. We welcome them.

* 1st VP report - No report

* 2nd VP Report - No report

* Secretary's Report - Kent, K9KMD read the meeting minutes from
the November meeting.
* Amateur Radio History - Kent, K9KMD presented a wonderful
history of how and when "Worked All States" (WAS) award was made
available from the ARRL.

* Treasures Report. - Dennis, N9TZL the current Official
membership (paid members) number is 8 with new additions tonight. The
list will be updated.

* Repeater Report - Ken, KB9I - Working better now. It was off
for a couple of hours on last Sunday.

* Old Business - Amendment to the club constitution to add a
statement to indicate when newly elected officers will officially take
office was discussed. A motion was presented to change the
constitution to add - "Newly elected officers will take office on the
following month of the election" The motion passed. We will edit the
amendment into the constitution

* New Business - None

* Public Service - Wendell, N9REP - none


VEC - no report.

Jack, W9MU stated that 40 is good, 15 was open, Zone 3 Plenty of DX.
17mters has been good - Gerry, N9AVY 10 was opened yesterday into LA.


Marty, W9MLP passed out a survey, with regard to programs. He requested
it be filled out during the meeting. The survey listed potential
programs the attendees would like to see in up-coming meetings.

Jack, W9MU opened the meeting to general discussion, all kind of things,
nothing should be held back with regard to improving our club. Many
different topics were discussed with an excellent exchange from those
attending.

January meeting has been scheduled for a week later because the first
Tuesday is on New Years day. The rescheduled meeting date is now
Tuesday January 8th, 2008. It will be held at the Nunda Township hall
located north of Crystal Lake - time is 7:30pm. Marty, W9MLP has made
arrangements for updated information to be sent out.

Meeting ended at 9:00p per Jack, W9MU.
