Regular Meeting minuets – October 2008

The October meeting of MCWA was held at the Nunda Township Office on October 7, 2008.

The President Jim McDonald N7US called the meeting to order at 7:40 pm. Jim introduced himself as the newly elected President and gave a short bio. The other 11 attendees introduced themselves and gave some information about their Amateur Radio activities and interests.

Secretaries Report: The secretary was not in attendance. W9MLP made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting as published on the club website. It was seconded by KB9I. The motion carried.

Treasurers Report: The treasurer reported he has not yet received the account information from the previous treasurer. He expects to have that information before the next meeting.

Repeater Report: KB9I gave an update on the repeater interference problem and ongoing solutions.

New Business: W9MLP suggested that after the Radio Expo at Boone County Fairgrounds was rained out possibly the next meeting program could be a meeting Hamfest. Attendees would bring items they wish to sell and funds to buy things they can't do without. W9MLP will explore the possibilities with the program manager W9MU. KB9I suggested items could be listed on the club website before the meeting. N7US asked if anyone would be interested in club badges. KB9I volunteered to look into a source of badges.
After a break with a raffle conducted by N9REP and many tasty treats provided by N7US and his bride, the interesting and informative program, "Radios of the Titanic" by Rich K9PK followed the break. After an in depth description of equipment and procedures associated with the ill fated Titanic, including a possible recording of the actual distress message, the meeting was adjourned at 9:40 pm.

Respectfully submitted by W9MLP for K9KMD
