Regular Meeting minutes – March 2, 2010

The meeting began at 19:37 with KB9I the President presiding. KB9I asked for visitors and guests to proceed with self-introductions. KA9OZP Vice-President and W9MLP Treasurer were also in attendance. A meeting attendance report showed 21 members and 4 visitors in attendance. The required 12 members established a quorum.

W9MLP made a motion seconded by KA9GIN to accept the last meeting minutes as published. Motion carried.

W9MLP gave a treasurer report as published in the newsletter.

Repeater Report
Ken KB9I explained the jamming continues. He has been using his dopplescan and he reports it works very well. A discussion about various methods to catch the jammers brought up many new and existing methods.

DX Report
KA9OZP and other members said conditions were getting much better. They listed many DX contacts they had made including Taiwan on 15 meters.

John W9ZE discussed McHenry County training for ARES members and those interested in being trained for emergency services. John developed a list of local hams and located 830 hams in the county. He sent out notices by email. For more information see http://www.mcraces.org/

W9MU asked if anyone was interested in putting up a field day station. Anyone interested in putting together a station for a K9RN field day is welcomed to contact KB9I or W9MU to proceed.

N9REP conducted his last raffle to dispose of the remaining prizes. The super raffle continued until all prizes were gone. N9REP was thanked for handling the raffle in the past and received a hand for his efforts. N9avy was thanked for the effort put into the newsletter.

The program was a ARVN video about the Dayton Hamvention 2008 and 2009.

The meeting was ended at 21:00.
